Color of Madness coming to Darkest Dungeon on all platforms on October 11

iPad, Switch, Xbox, PC/Mac/Linux • I know Darkest Dungeon has both its fans and critics around these parts (I’m steadfastly in the “fan” category), but even the haters can’t deny that the more big-name PC ports we get on iPad, the better. The downside of not being the game’s primary platform, however, comes with the slow pace of getting new content. We’re all still waiting for Aspyr to release the Rise & Fall expansion for Civ VI on iPad, for example. The latest DLC for Darkest Dungeon, the Color of Madness, was unleashed on Steam back in June but those of us who play on our iPads or Switches were left in the lurch, waiting for any news of its appearance on our platform of choice. Today, that news finally broke. The Color of Madness will be coming to all platforms–iPad, console, Switch–on October 11.

Warhammer Quest 2 adds new warriors and goes on the cheap

iOS Universal, Android • Warhammer Quest 2 arrived as a bit of a problem child, but attention paid to it by its creator, Perchang, since then has turned it into a respectable member of App Store society. That’s a really clunky and sad metaphor, so let me rephrase. Warhammer Quest 2 wasn’t as beloved as the first entry when it arrived, but Perchang has turned it into the belle of the ball via updates and expansion content since then. Still clunky, but I think you get point. Today they added more content to the game in the form of two new warriors which you can buy via IAP. To help offset the price, however, they’ve also discounted the base game so, if you haven’t yet pulled the trigger on WHQ2, now’s a pretty good time.

One Deck Dungeon ready for adventure next week

iPad, Android Tablet, PC/Mac/Linux • Not to get all Galadriel on you, but the world has changed. I can feel it in the water. I feel it in the earth. I sense it on the App Store. Earlier this week saw the actual, zeroes-and-ones release of a digital board game, Among the Stars. Today we learned that another much-anticipated game is coming to life next week. If the headline didn’t give it away, it’s One Deck Dungeon from Handelabra.

Warhammer Quest 2 (finally) arrives for Android

iOS Universal, Android • While rumor had it that the sequel to 2013’s much praised Warhammer Quest would be arriving for Android on Wednesday, April 11, that ended up being a big, filthy LIE. Instead, early this morning (not April 11, btw), Warhammer Quest 2 from Perchang made its way to the Google Play store. Okay, so it was like an hour late. Whatever.

C’mon, you can pull yourself away for a little bit. No? Okay, then just listen to me drone on in the background. Into the Breach isn’t the only bit of coolness to land on Steam today. Our friends at Handelabra have also pushed out an Early Access build of the card-based dungeon crawler, One Deck Dungeon for PC/Mac/Linux which is two more platforms than you’ll find for Into the Breach. Take that, Subset!

Darkest Dungeon all set to depress Switch owners

iPad, Switch, PC/Mac/Linux • One of my favorite titles of 2017 was the iPad version of Darkest Dungeon. Strangely enough, one of my favorite games of 2016 was the Steam version of Darkest Dungeon. Santa brought my youngest a Switch this Christmas, but I’ve been finding loads of time to log onto it myself. Today, Darkest Dungeon released for Switch and I have a feeling it might pull of the hat trick and become one of my favorite games of 2018 as well.

iOS • While we’re all busy playing Through the Ages today, we need to remember 2017 isn’t done beating us down with awesome games. Case in point: Warhammer Quest 2: The End Times which is coming to mobile in October. We’re all familiar with the first Warhammer Quest, what with its top down perspective and orc crushing combat. Warhammer Quest 2 promises much of the same, it appears, albeit with a more isometric take and way more detail when it comes to the environments and characters. We spoke with Perchang about what we can expect a few weeks ago, but today they released a new trailer that highlights the gameplay and it’s worth watching.

iOS, Android • As most of you are probably already aware, the much-anticipated dungeon crawler, Warhammer Quest 2, is due to arrive in October. October 19th to be exact. You can find this information all over the internet, but we saw it first over at Touch Arcade where Ben Murch, ex-Rodeo Games and current-Perchang head honcho spilled the beans in their forums (observant readers will notice our own Nick Vigdahl as the author of that TA story. Hooray, Nick!). I was kind of loath to simply write a post regurgitating release date news, so instead we got Ben Murch on the horn and asked him a few questions about the upcoming Warhammer Quest 2. Darkest Dungeon gets new DLC, Crimson Court

PC/Mac/Linux • We’re still holding out hope that, one day, Darkest Dungeon will find it’s way to our iPads. It was originally a “maybe” and then a “we’ll see” and lastly an “hmmm”, so it’s looking more and more that, if you want to play Darkest Dungeon (and you should), you’ll need to get it on Steam or GoG. For those of us already playing it on our laptops, however, today is a good day. More content in the form of DLC was just released, The Crimson Court.

Warhammer Quest goes Electric Boogaloo with sequel, The End Times

iOS, Android • Last year we learned that several members of the Rodeo Games crew had gone and started another game company, Perchang. Their first, eponymous title was a fairly light twitch/puzzle game that was incredibly successful and seemed to close the door on any chance Rodeo might get the band back together and give us more classic mobile fare like Warhammer Quest or Deathwatch: Tyranid Invasion. Turns out a Rodeo reunion wasn’t necessary, as Perchang has announced a sequel to Rodeo’s Warhammer Quest, Warhammer Quest 2: The End Times.
