All the news we missed last week (and maybe even before that)

March 25, 2019 David Neumann 8

It’s been a crazy few months at Stately Play HQ. Work, family, and life in general have been putting up huge detour signs whenever I’d sit down to pen a poorly written screed about the latest Big Thing. You may have noticed. I’m on vacation this week (my kids are on spring break, which seemed as good of an excuse as any) so I’m hoping to have a little more time. I’m hoping this extra time stretches into the future even when I’m not sitting outside in 72 degree weather with a lovely ocean breeze to keep me cool. Work should be dying down a bit and the end of club volleyball is in sight. We’ll see, but I’m hoping for a more energetic front page in the coming weeks and months. A lot of stuff in Gameland has been happening and, instead of forcing you to read one dreck filled post of mine after another, I thought I’d pile all the dreck into one easy-to-digest morsel. See what’s been happening after the break.

Handelabra celebrates Sentinels birthday by going insane

October 12, 2017 David Neumann 0

iOS, Android, PC/Mac/Linux • As I mentioned yesterday, Handelabra has left their flagship title, Sentinels of the Multiverse, in the rear view mirror and is now focusing solely on…JUST KIDDING! Sentinels is still alive and well, and one of the best card game ports you’ll find on the App Store. It’s also celebrating its third birthday today, so Handelabra is having a sale. A crazy, ridiculous sale, so if you’re one of the few who hasn’t gotten on the Sentinels train yet–or just want to pick up more expansion content–now’s the time.

Sentinels adding a little variety all through autumn

September 6, 2017 David Neumann 1

iOS Universal, Android, PC/Mac/Linux • I’ve been noticing a lot of people on social media decrying the end of summer and whining that autumn is nearly upon us. These people are morons. Autumn is the best goddamned season of the entire year and I’ll fight anyone who claims summer is all that. Can you wear flannel while eating chili in front of a roaring fire in summer? Hell no! Autumn wins. If I had a mic drop gif, this is where I’d put it. Handelabra is on my side, and are doing their darndest to make autumn even better. Starting last night, their Fall of the Variants event began and we can expect new, free Sentinels of the Multiverse goodness every week through December.

Villains of the Multiverse launching on June 22

June 15, 2017 David Neumann 3

iOS Universal, Android, PC/Mac • And…we’re back. Sorry for the lack of content this week, but summer vacation started this week for my kids and, coincidentally, my wife has been gone since Sunday on a business trip, leaving me with no time to myself to get anything written. While summer will make it a little harder for me to get content up, I don’t plan on going AWOL very often, so I apologize for the past few days. Let’s get caught up, shall we? The biggest news of the week (maybe?) comes from our friends at Handelabra who have announced the next major update for Sentinels of the Multiverse is arriving on June 22.

Handelabra adds Challenge Mode to Sentinels of the Multiverse

March 15, 2017 David Neumann 1

iOS Universal, Android, PC/Mac • Whenever a cooperative game is released, regardless of how impossible it is to win, it will only be a matter of days before some gamers start squawking about how easy the game is. There’s always folks claiming to have an 80% win rate on games that I have yet to sniff a victory, and I’m usually playing on the easiest difficulty level. Now, either I’m a terrible gamer or they’re lying. I fully admit to being terrible at everything, gaming included, but I like to think that those folks are lying through their teeth or, at least, playing the rules wrong. It can’t all be me, can it? Case in point, I suck at Sentinels of the Multiverse. I’ve played a ton, and yet still fail miserably against just about every villain regardless of which team I’ve cobbled together. For those who find Sentinels too easy I have two things to say. First of all, I hate you, and, secondly, Handelabra somehow agrees with you and has given masochists the option to make SotM even harder via something called Challenge Mode.
