Of all the games I’ve tried to teach over the years, none has generated more blank stares than Terra Mystica. A heavy euro, the game features a confusing magic system, tons of different races to play each with their own special abilities, and enough wooden pieces to deforest a small nation. While complicated, once it clicks it’s a fantastic game.
If you’ve been scared off from playing the physical version, or just haven’t heard of it, you’re in luck. DIGIDICED has announced that they’re working on a mobile version of Terra Mystica for release in Q1 of 2017.

You might remember DIGIDICED from their rather great ports of 2-player euros from designer Uwe Rosenberg: Patchwork, Le Havre: The Inland Port, and Agricola: All Creatures Big and Small. This will be their first foray into the heavy euro scene, so it will be interesting to see how they pull it off. Their previous titles have all been released for both iOS and Android, so we’re expecting the same of Terra Mystica, although all we currently know for certain is what you see in their tweet up above.
