Baseball Highlights 2045 updated with new expansion

2016 has been a great year for digital board games, so much so that it’s easy to lose track of every great release. Luckily, some of them are aware of this and keep bubbling to the surface of our consciousness by releasing more content. The latest example of this is Peter Kossit’s one-man triumph, Baseball Highlights 2045. It was just updated with the requisite bug fixes, but also includes a new expansion pack that includes my favorite part of baseball, errors.

Baseball Highlights 2045 is a baseball game, kind of. It emulates a full baseball game with only 6 cards and each game only takes minutes to play. It’s a great sports game for people who don’t really care for sports. The latest expansion pack is available via a $1 IAP and includes 15 new cards. There are 5 new Naturals (that’s humans to you and me), 1 new Cyborg, and 9 new Robots to add to the mix. Oh, did I forget to mention that baseball isn’t just humans vs. humans anymore? Minor detail.

Baseball Highlights 2045 has single player vs. AI as well as a solitaire variant. There is also pass-and-play multiplayer if that’s your bag. It’s available for iOS Universal and Android for $6, and the Errors expansion pack is the third expansion that’s been released.

  1. Anybody else having a lot of fun with this game? It’s too bad there’s no online multiplayer, but it is a very good single player experience. Love that the one-man developer is very active on BGG and is communicating with fans of the game.

I think he may do MP once he has all the expansions in.
